Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 September 2026

FiscTalk is a static, read-only website. You do not need an account to use it, and the calculators run entirely in your browser — the income, deduction and filing-status numbers you type in are processed on your own device and are never transmitted to our servers. We have no database of what you entered, because we never receive it.

Information we do not collect

  • Calculator inputs. They stay in your browser tab and disappear when you close it.
  • Precise geolocation. We never request your device location. Where a page needs to know your state, you choose it from a list — we do not infer it.
  • Personal identifiers in advertising requests. We do not place email addresses, phone numbers, names or any other personal identifier in URLs or ad request parameters.

Cookies and advertising

We use Google AdSense to display advertising. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites on the internet. This is sometimes called interest-based advertising (IBA).

AdSense is loaded only after you accept cookies in our consent banner. If you decline, no advertising cookies are set and every calculator and article remains fully available. You can also control personalisation directly:

  • Google Ad Settings — turn personalised ads on or off for your signed-in Google account.
  • aboutads.info — opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies.
  • NAI opt-out — the Network Advertising Initiative equivalent.
  • The “Cookie settings” link in our footer re-opens the banner so you can change a previous choice.

Third-party ad-serving companies may also use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to measure and improve their own advertising. FiscTalk does not control those cookies. For detail on how Google uses data when you use partners' sites or apps, see Google's partner-sites policy.

Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland

If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before any advertising-related cookie is set, and you can use the site fully whether you accept or decline. You may withdraw consent at any time via the footer link. Under the GDPR you also have the right to access, correct, export and delete personal data we hold about you, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Because we hold no account data, in practice the only personal data we may hold is a message you sent us yourself.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand which pages and calculators are useful. It reports aggregated statistics — page views, referrers, approximate country — and we do not use it to build individual profiles or to combine it with advertising data. Google Analytics is loaded with IP anonymisation where available. You can block it entirely with any standard content blocker or browser privacy setting without losing access to any feature on the site.

Contact form

If you send a message through our contact form, the name, email address and message you submit are transmitted to and stored by Web3Forms (web3forms.com) solely so that we can receive and answer your inquiry. We do not use this information for marketing, and we never sell, trade, rent or transfer it. You can ask us to delete a submission at any time by emailing team@fisctalk.com.

Children

FiscTalk is a general-audience tax reference site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data retention

We keep contact-form submissions only as long as needed to answer you and to maintain a record of corrections we have made. Server access logs, where our host retains them, are kept on the host's standard short retention cycle and are not used by us for profiling.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data — for example, when advertising is switched on — we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be reflected in the consent banner as well.
