FiscTalk is an independent tax-information publisher. We build tools and guides for the situations where a generic one-number calculator or a chat assistant falls short: per-state rules that vary by jurisdiction, multi-state residency, convenience-employer traps, and high-net-worth structures where a single wrong number carries real consequences.
Who runs FiscTalk
FiscTalk is an independent editorial research project run by The FiscTalk Editorial Team. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any tax preparation firm, accounting firm, financial institution, or the IRS — and we do not prepare or file returns on your behalf. The team is responsible for every page, figure and tool on this site.
Our editorial team
Content is produced by the FiscTalk Editorial Team and checked in-house against the primary source cited on each page before publication, with a published and last-reviewed date shown on every article and tool.
On external review — stated plainly: FiscTalk does not currently have a named external CPA, EA or tax attorney reviewing content. Earlier versions of this site said content was “reviewed by an external licensed CPA”; that was not accurate and we have removed it. If and when a named professional reviewer joins the project, this page and every byline on the site will name them. Until then, treat our figures as source-linked educational references, not as reviewed professional advice.
Sourcing & YMYL
Tax information is a “Your Money or Your Life” topic. We anchor figures to primary sources (IRS revenue procedures, IRS publications, state Departments of Revenue, Tax Foundation) and date every dataset. Unverified items are flagged rather than presented as fact. We never fabricate rates, thresholds, or citations.
The full source record — every IRS publication, revenue procedure and state statute a figure rests on, with its last-reviewed date — is published on our citation packs page, so you can check any number back to its origin or cite it correctly.
Monetization
FiscTalk is supported solely by Google AdSense display advertising. We do not sell leads to tax preparers, do not use affiliate links, and do not accept sponsored conclusions.
Updates
Tax parameters are inflation-adjusted annually and changed by legislation such as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. We revisit datasets each year and note the “as of” date on every tool.
What we are not
We are not a law firm, a CPA firm, or a tax preparation service. Where professional preparation or planning helps, we point to reputable licensed providers, but we hold no special endorsement from them and recommendations are never paid for. Figures are educational references, not a filing position — always verify current rules with a licensed CPA or EA before filing.
